The nutritional landscape out there can be confusing at best with so much information coming at you from all different angles. It doesn’t need to be confusing or scary. I am ready to help you traverse the terrain of your health and help you make informed decisions.

My story really begins as a child at my Southern Granny’s table in Nashville in the 1970’s. She lovingly fed me and anyone else who would wander into her kitchen. She didn’t know about macros and saturated fats, probiotics, or grass-finished beef. All she knew was that she had family and friends to feed and she did it with grace and skill. I am forever grateful for those times at her table, eating breakfast, dinner, or doing my homework. I felt cared for, seen and heard. Fast forward to my own marriage (37+ years!) and children (8 of them!) and I see her fingerprints all over the ways I have cared for them.

I was first introduced to natural healing when one of my sons, at 18 months old in 1994, had chronic ear infections and was on his third round of antibiotics and he was not getting better. The only recourse we had was to have surgery and put tubes in his ears, but a friend of mine who was fighting her cancer naturally (she lived to see her children grow up, marry, and have children of their own) encouraged me to go to the local health food store and put him on a protocol for healing his gut and, therefore his ears. I was scared, but I did it, and he got well. He never had another ear infection. This set me on a path of reading, growing, learning, and understanding all I could about these amazing bodies and the foods that God made for them. That path has been a long and winding one, with many stories along the way that have shaped how I approach health, healing, and nutrition.

More recently, (7 years ago), I found out I had type 2 diabetes, a malady that sadly affects more than 38 million Americans. As you can imagine, I decided I would go the natural route, only taking on one medication (Metformin), because my situation was quite dire as I had been dismissing the symptoms for years. Within 3 months of changing my diet and lifestyle, the A1C indicator had dropped from 10.8 (slow death) to 6 (pre diabetic). I now manage to keep it in the low 5s (non-diabetic). All of this to say, I have been where you are and look forward to walking with you on your path to wellness.
